January 2024 Recap

My community made this month monumental…

This January was filled to the brim with performances! On January 20th, I premiered my new iteration of The Wild Stage (TM)---Berlin Baby to a SOLD-OUT crowd at Pittsburgh’s Storyville Lounge. In Berlin Baby I profile the lives of Weimar Berlin’s biggest stars: Lotte Lenya, Marlene Dietrich, Claire Waldoff, Mady Christians, and Trude Hesterberg. I was thrilled to appear with Wild Stage veteran vocalist Sienna Dalessandro and newcomer Brian Buckley, who played both keyboard and accordion.

On January 28th, I had the honor of hosting a benefit recital for Refuge for Women Pittsburgh, which is a faith-based organization that provides emergency and long-term housing to women that have escaped sex trafficking. The recital was entitled Legacies of Hope and included repertoire by female composers such as Florence Price, Clara Schumann, and Jewel. I had the pleasure of performing alongside frequent collaborator, Amy Kapp. We raised $1400 for Refuge for Women! We cannot thank our supporters enough.
